How the Diploma Works

The Professional Diploma is the highest level of study we offer. It is a 12-month guided journey that brings together online theory, hands-on practice, and direct mentorship with Clive Witham.

The Ecosystem

Designed for busy professionals, the program blends deep-dive theory with hands-on practice:

  • Hands-on Foundation: 4-day Live Immersion Training covering essential physical skills (Modules 1 & 2).
  • 12-Month Mentorship: Advanced theory, systemic health, and client integration (Modules 3, 4 & 5).
  • Unified Credential: Combines your online credits and live hours into a single, respected professional designation.
  • Your Investment Follows You: Previous EIM Online Courses or Live Immersions are fully credited toward your Diploma tuition.

Moving beyond the workshop: The EIM Ecology

Most Gua sha training focuses on “tool movement” but rarely explains why the body responds the way it does. The Professional Diploma goes deeper:

  • Whole-body perspective: fascia, internal organs, and systemic tension.
  • Connected results: treat the environment, not just symptoms, for lasting client outcomes.
  • For specialists: move beyond routines to understand the body as a single, connected system.

You have learned the motions. Now master the system.

Most training in Gua sha is limited. It teaches you how to move a tool, but rarely why the body responds the way it does.

The EIM Advanced Diploma is not a technique class. It is an academic and mentored deep-dive into the internal ecosystems that shape the human face and body.

Designed for Estheticians, Bodyworkers, and Therapists who are ready to move beyond "technique" and into true structural and systemic restoration.

Moving beyond the workshop: The EIM Ecology

Most training in Gua sha focuses on how to move a tool, but rarely explains why the body responds the way it does. The Professional Diploma isn’t just another technique class; it is a mentored deep-dive into the internal ecosystems that shape how we look and feel.

In nature, no plant grows in isolation. In the body, no wrinkle or pain point exists in isolation. We teach you to look beyond the symptom and treat the whole environment - the fascia, the internal organs, and the systemic tension. This is for the practitioner who is ready to move beyond routines and start understanding the body as a single, connected system so that the results you achieve for your clients actually last.

Two Paths to Specialisation

While every student learns the same core philosophy, a facial specialist needs different tools than a therapist working in a pain clinic. You will choose the track that matches your work:

 Two paths to Specialization

While all students learn the same core philosophy, your specialization track ensures your training is relevant to your practice:

 Track A:
Facial Gua Sha Diploma

  • For: Estheticians, Beauty Specialists, and professionals focused on the face and the beauty world.
  • Focus: Reconstructing the face and restoring radiance by addressing the internal patterns that drive aging and skin health.
  • Final Award: Dip. EIM (IF)

 Track B:
Therapeutic Gua Sha Diploma

  • For: Manual Therapists, TCM practitioners, Naturopaths, and health professionals.
  • Focus: Restoring function and resolving chronic patterns of pain, mobility, and systemic stagnation.
  • Final Award: Dip. EIM (T)

 Track A:
The Integrative Facial Diploma

  • For: Estheticians, Beauty Specialists, and professionals focused on the face.
  • Focus: Reconstructing the face and restoring radiance by addressing the internal patterns that drive aging and skin health.
  • Final Award: Dip. EIM (IF)

Track B: The Integrative Therapeutic Diploma

  • For: Manual Therapists, TCM practitioners, Naturopaths, and health professionals.
  • Focus: Restoring function and resolving chronic patterns of pain, mobility, and systemic stagnation.
  • Final Award: Dip. EIM (T)

Credit Flow

All components work together toward your Diploma. Your previous online study and Live Immersion hours are fully credited, forming the foundation of your professional designation. Optional specialist sessions are available to deepen expertise without altering the core pathway.

Why a 300-Hour Professional Diploma?

The EIM™ Professional Diploma is structured as a 300-hour equivalent, 12-month mentored program, reflecting the point at which training moves beyond introductory certification into professional-level competence.

Across holistic, aesthetic, and manual therapy education, 200–300 hours is widely recognised as the threshold where practitioners develop clinical reasoning, adaptability, and confidence working with real clients, not just familiarity with techniques.

Rather than relying on raw hours alone, the EIM™ Diploma is built to ensure graduates are prepared for real client work, supported by mentorship, feedback, and applied practice over time.

One diploma credit represents approximately one hour of total learner effort. Credit multipliers reflect learning intensity — not additional clock hours.

The Credit-Weighted Learning Model

Not all learning hours carry the same educational value.
Supervised, feedback-led training consistently accelerates skill integration compared to unsupervised repetition. For this reason, the EIM™ Diploma assigns different credit weightings to different learning formats, reflecting how complex manual skills are most effectively learned.

Credit Weighting Structure

  • Independent Practice & Case Studies
    1 hour = 1 diploma credit
  • Live Technical Training (4-Day Immersion)
    1 hour = 3 diploma credits
  • Live Specialist Training (2-Day Advanced Focus)
    1 hour = 4 diploma credits

This reflects a widely accepted principle in professional education: focused, supervised correction compresses learning time and reduces trial-and-error, leading to faster, more reliable skill integration.

Optional sessions are additive, not required.
Your Diploma pathway remains clear, predictable, and transparent.
Your previous EIM training always counts toward your total credits.

The Optional Advanced Pathway

The 2-Day Live Specialist Training (advanced focus areas) is optional.

  • It does not change the diploma outcome
  • It changes how efficiently you reach it

Attend the specialist training → earn 56 credits in 14 hours
Skip it → complete 56 additional hours of documented independent practice

Both routes lead to the same EIM™ Diploma.

Graduates who complete a Specialist Training receive a Specialist Endorsement alongside their diploma, recognising verified advanced focus in a specific area. This reflects standard professional practice, where diploma holders list areas of additional expertise once further training has been completed.

TThis is a comprehensive 12-month program designed for deep learning. You will move through three distinct phases of growth, supported by weekly advanced lessons and Live Supervision with Clive Witham to help you apply the theory to the clients on your table.

Term 1 | Module 3: The Common Core

September – December

Both tracks study together to master the universal language of Ecology in Motion™. We deconstruct the physical reality of the body.

  • EIM Infrastructure: The Ecology of the body in terms of Gua sha and the natural world, including Classical Chinese ideas of anatomy and physiology, biology, geology, astrology and quantum physics.
  • The Architecture of Tension: Mapping the fascial and circulation layers, anchor areas, and sites of impairments in the body.
  • Historical Context: The development and history of Gua sha as a modern technique.
  • Ergonomics: Mastering the body mechanics to protect your career.

Term 2 | Module 4: The Specialization

January – April

Here, the cohort splits into specialist tracks. You dive deep into the specialist area relevant to your track.

Track A: FACIAL Track

  • Aesthetic Correction: The main approach to aging and structural facial shifts.
  • The Internal Environment: Understanding how digestive health and systemic inflammation manifest in skin conditions and facial tension.
  • Mapping the Face: Connecting external facial patterns to internal systemic changes.

Track B: THERAPEUTIC Track

  • Structural Correction: The main approach for fascia obstruction and mobility restrictions.
  • Systemic Function: Understanding the relationship between organ health, the circulation system, and musculoskeletal form.
  • Mapping the Body: Connecting local pain areas to global systemic patterns.

Term 3 | Module 5: Professional Integration

May – August

We turn theory into practice. You remain in your specialist track and focus on synthesizing your knowledge for professional growth and advanced practice.

  • Case Management Mastery: Learn to manage complex client cases and design adaptable, long-term treatment plans spanning multiple sessions.
  • Professional Positioning: Strategies for elevating your practice, including premium service development and how to position yourself as a Diplomate and authority in the EIM methodology.
  • The Final Review: Guided preparation for your Final Integration Review, ensuring mastery of the systemic model and your chosen specialization.
  • Ethical Practice: Advanced discussions on professional safety, scope of practice boundaries, and complex client communication.

The Academic Calendar (2026-2027)

The Hybrid Model: Theory + Hands-on Practice

The Diploma ensures you have the clinical logic to design a treatment and the hands-on skill to deliver it. We bridge the gap between understanding the internal systems and the physical precision required to change them.

1. The Virtual Campus: Modules 3-5 (Weekly)
Every Monday, you unlock a new Advanced Module. You study from home, supported by our private faculty community and monthly Live Supervision video calls with Clive.

2. The Clinical Immersion: Modules 1-2 (Live)
This is where the theory becomes real. You’ll join us for a 4-day intensive focused entirely on your mechanics - refining your touch, pressure, and tool angles in real-time. Simply choose the Live Immersion dates that match your track. (Note: If you have already attended an EIM Live Class, you have already completed this part of the journey.)

3. The Technical Library (Included) Tuition includes lifetime access to the relevant EIM Core Foundations Online Course as your permanent technical reference guide.

A Mentored Journey (Not a Self-Study Course)

We’ve built the infrastructure to ensure you never feel stuck or isolated:

  • The Support Hub: Have a complex client case? Post your photos, findings, and questions 24/7. Our senior EIM mentors provide direct feedback and guidance to help you apply the theory in real-time.
  • Your Specialty Cohort Connect with colleagues in your specific track (Facial or Therapeutic). These private groups allow you to share results and troubleshoot with others who are facing the same specialist challenges in their own practice.
  • Monthly Live Supervision: Our Sunday calls aren't just lectures; they are "office hours" where you can bring your specific practice hurdles to Clive for immediate resolution.
  • Permanent Resource Archive: Every session is recorded and timestamped for your library, so you can revisit an insight months later when you need it

Is the EIM Diploma Right for You?

The Professional Diploma is a deep commitment to the logic and practice of the Ecology in Motion™ system. We keep our class sizes strictly limited so that every student gets direct mentorship. Because of that, we want to make sure this is the right fit for your goals and your schedule.

This program is likely a great fit if:

  • You are tired of "protocols." You want to understand the why behind the movement so you can treat the unique individual on your table, not just a textbook case.
  • You want to move from "Technician" to "Specialist." You are ready to handle the complex cases that leave other practitioners feeling stuck.
  • You value community and mentorship. You are looking for a professional "home" and a faculty that supports your growth long after the 12 months are over.
  • You want the highest professional title we offer. You are ready to stand out in the industry as a Diplomate of the EIM Institute.

This program might NOT be the right fit if:

  • You are looking for a "quick" update. This isn't a weekend workshop; it is an academic deep-dive into the systems that drive health and beauty.
  • You prefer to learn passively. Success here requires active participation, weekly practice with your clients, and completing a final review.
  • You want "new moves" without the theory. If you aren't interested in advanced anatomy and the "Ecological" philosophy of the body, our standard Live Classes are a much better fit.
  • The timing isn't right. You’ll need to dedicate about 3–5 hours per week to your studies and practice throughout the year. If your schedule is currently at capacity, we recommend starting with an Online Course instead.

Once the academic term begins (Sept 2026), tuition refunds are handled on a prorated basis during Term 1, but no refunds are issued after Term 2 begins (January 2027), as the full academic resources and mentorship commitment will be in place.

Q: Why is the Alumni credit capped?
A: The discount is a fixed Transfer Credit designed to simplify accounting across all historical prices and currencies, ensuring all past graduates receive the same, guaranteed high-value discount towards the Diploma.

The EIM Diploma Commitment Policy

We recognize the significant investment and commitment required for the Diploma. Our policy is structured to be fair while securing your limited seat and protecting the intellectual property granted upon enrollment.

I. Deposit Policy ($1,500)

Your deposit secures your limited seat in the September 2026 cohort and grants you immediate access to the Core Foundations Online Library.

Cancellation & Refund Terms (Before Sept 1, 2026): We understand that life circumstances can change between registration and the start of the Diploma.

- 14-Day Cooling-Off Period: You may cancel for a full refund of the deposit within 14 days of purchase, provided you have not accessed the Diploma-Exclusive materials.

- After 14 Days OR Upon Access: If you choose to withdraw after the cooling-off period but before September 1, 2026, we will refund your deposit minus a $100 Administrative Fee.

* Note regarding Online Access: If you were granted new access to the Core Foundations Online Library as part of this deposit and have accessed it, the current retail price of that course ($499) will also be deducted from your refund. You will retain lifetime access to that online course.
 * For Upgrade Students: If you already owned the Online Library prior to applying, only the Administrative Fee ($100) is deducted.

- Withdrawal/Transfer Option Alternatively, rather than a cash refund, you may transfer the full $1,500 deposit to any future EIM Live Training or Online Course offered by the Institute, valid for up to 18 months.

II. Tuition Balance Refund (After Term Begins)
This applies to the remaining tuition balance once the 12-month academic term officially begins (September 2026).

Before September 1st, 2026: Full refund of all tuition paid minus the non-refundable deposit.

During Term 1 (September - December): Prorated refund based on the date of withdrawal, calculated as 75% of the remaining unused tuition balance.

After January 1st, 2027 (Start of Term 2): No refunds will be issued as the cohort curriculum has fully diverged and mentorship commitments are finalized.
