The EIM™ approach

Know where to begin.
Understand how to respond.

A painful area is a starting point for observation. You will explore its relationships with surrounding and more distant tissues, use touch and movement to guide your choices, and reassess as you work.

What you will develop

  • Precise porcelain spoon (saji) handling, pressure, angle and rhythm.
  • Observation of tissue tension, movement and treatment response.
  • Practical work across posterior, lateral and anterior regions.
  • Choices about treatment area, depth, direction and dosage.
  • A coherent treatment that you can adapt to the individual.

Who can attend?

Open to complete beginners and experienced practitioners, including acupuncturists, massage therapists, bodyworkers, physiotherapists, nurses and other healthcare professionals.

No previous Gua sha training is required. The four days build from essential skills into integrated treatment, with approximately 75% of the training devoted to hands-on learning.
